MUSICAL JOURNEY INTO PAINTING INTO A MUSICAL JOURNEY…..
This has to be shared with you. Even more so if you’re an artist that paints to music, with headphones, to eliminate all possible distractions, to become one with the sound, to be the sound, to vibrate… but you don’t have to be an artist to have this experience, you just have to love music!
It’s a circle, never ending…
Lately, I’ve been painting to Rich Franks’ music, an album he did with John Pattitucci and Alex Darqui
.
An album they did for their friend Jaco Pastorius. A gift from Rich to me. A precious gift.
Each time I know I’m going to be painting to this music, I have all kinds of mixed feelings, from being excited, to anxious, to curious, to hyper, to apprehensive, to… to….
I’m going to be writing on and off about this fantastic album that takes me on unbelievable journeys, each one different from the next, each time I rediscover this music, again and again…
Each time it is as if I hear it for the first time…
As Rich puts it so well: It was a lifetime of love for music. That sound is the love and respect for the gift given!
An album for people who can hear…
This album has perfect balance in everything, the sound, the chronology of the tunes, the rhythm slower… faster… gliding… accelerating, decelerating… it keeps picking me up and pulling me higher, deeper into a state of … grace.
But it does so in an ever so gentle way, giving me space to adapt before going up another step… another step… into my… Self…
And I paint. No rush, no stress, no hurry, sometimes going into details, sometimes enjoying wide strokes, calm, relaxed… and all this time, I am in a state of deep meditation…
Music is the most wonderful tool for self-development, self-growth, for those who are willing to listen with their whole being…
While I was washing my brushes after this session… out of the blue… Enlightment… I know why I’m here… I remember… on a cellular level…
The two paintings I am working on while listening to this music are not finished but I will post them when they are.
