HAFEEZ QASMANI’S HOPE OF RECOGNITION!

By likemindblog

 HAFEEZ

A poor villager from Dokri near MOHEN JO DARO, Sindh, Pakistan. At early age my father died, When I was in primary school level, from our school we had a visit to Mohen Jo Daro, I was about 8 or 9…In the museum of Mohen jo Daro, the first time I saw two tempra mural paintings, made by Italian artist Carole in 1964. It was my first inspiration  to start drawing and painting.  Twelve years later, the  Archaeology department brought me to Mohen Jo daro to retouch that same painting. It motivated me to get  a MA in fine arts. Which I’ve completed from sindh University Jamshoro, Pakistan. During the same period I got married and that was arrange. My love life was failing and during that period I got the chance to study Marxism and other philosophy as well.

I got a job as an art teacher in Karachi, sindh, Pakistan. After 10 years I resigned under pressure.  Now I’m jobless and doing painting only.  When a painting is sold then I purchase colour to paint more. My dream is to be an artist and  I want to exhibit my work around the world, and work till the last day of my life.

Hafeez, welcome, and thank you for sharing parts of your life with us, your thoughts and feelings and your amazing talent.   Thank you as well for answering the following questions:

No. 1)  What is art to and for you?Hafeez PICT0152

1-ART IS:

Inspiration, free flow of imagination, another dimension of understanding my ego, desires, frustrations, signs, satisfaction, feelings,  learning from the unknown..

When I communicate with colours on canvas in different ways which makes problems with lines, tones, composition, When I sell my problems on canvas, this results in new paintings. and  i,e artIn other words, I sell my ideas on canvas.

Generally, art is love with life, hope, different solutions in paintings to live a peaceful life, questions, variety, in short Art makes life easier to live. Art is different ideas, self satisfaction, respect, love and peace.

No. 2)  What inspires you?

2-INSPIRATIONS:

Rhythms, Waves, Curves, Raw material, rejected material, early morning, the word “WHERE”, the unknown, rain, smile, dry leaves which take on different forms and often go unnoticed, all this inspires me.

HAFEEZ PICT0163No. 3)  When you are painting, creating, where does it take you?  I mean where does your mind travel?

3-PAINTING TAKES ME TO: (OR MAKES ME THINK)

I can do it or  I can’t, murmuring to myself and my paintings “you cant leave me, you are with me , my life,” some times laughing for no reason, or crying, thinking that these paintings will tell people whether I’m able to or not, or who I am.

I often spend time looking at my paintings and I wonder if I can paint or not. Paintings never complain whether I’m ugly or beautiful, able or not.  It makes me so angry sometimes that while thinking I start talking louder to myself and my wife asks “What you were saying?” and I reply nothing.

No. 4)  Do you think visual art, music and health are related, and if so, how?

4-VISUAL ART, MUSIC AND HEALTH:

When I was a child,  radio was the only means of communication and entertainment. Dokri is where I used to live, near MOHEN JO DARO.  At that time I used to listen to music on a transistor radio.

Later on, when I saw on bioscope cinema the same song which I used to listen on the transistor, I found it was not as entertaining as it was before, because when I’d listen  to songs on the transistor there were no boundaries for imagination and thoughts.  But when that same song was performed by a single artist, it created boundaries for my imagination and made my thoughts limited and this made me feel hopeless, sick…

No. 5)  How do you feel you are painting?HAFEEZ PICT0580

5-FEELINGS:

What will happen to my “PAINTINGS” after me…..

No. 6)  Under what conditions do you do your best work?

6-CONDITIONS TO GIVE MY BEST:

When there is no tension for earning…

No. 7)  Do you identify with your art and if so, on what level?

7-MY ART…

It is combination of folk art and modern style ..  It’s on first stage..

No. 8)  Does painting help you connect with your higher self?

8-I believe in action, I’m giving my performance, where I’m going is not the issue….

No. 9)  How do you feel about public school systems and the development of creativity in students?

9-CREATVITY IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS:

There is lots of creativity in schools and students, just need to look for it.

HAFEEZ PICT0398No. 10)  In your opinion, what could be a simple solution to improve creativity in the public school systems?

10:IMPROVEMENT:

Set students free and ask them not to think and start drawing or painting…afterwards tell them now think of whatever they drew before, and ask them to find shapes and forms from it. Practice of those shapes and forms creates a new habit, a new habit means new knowledge.  Each student has their own practice, that practice start to develop a different school of art.

Teachers should teach them how to compose these forms they draw before with practice.

Thank you for participating in this project, Hafeez.  I want to wish success in achieving your dream.  Until we work together again, be blessed!

Love the colors and fluid lines that seem to just flow around the canvas. Visited your sites noted above and enjoyed more of your work. Your article tells much of the difficulties you have been through in order to pursue your art. Thank you for sharing.

i proud of u uncle. very good worke

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this,
like you wrote the book in it oor something. I think that
you could do with a few pics to drivee the message home a bit, but otfher than that, this iis excellent blog.
A great read. I will certainly be back.

Cuong Nhu draws from seven different styles: Shotokan, Judo, Aikido, Wing
Chun, Tai Chi, Vovinam, and Boxing. Modern police forces, security agencies, and concerned civilians continue to
draw upon the techniques and experiences of the ancient masters.
This started many hundreds of years prior to the development
of ninjitsu in China.

My name is Michele Andree. I am an artist, I paint musicians in action. I think I’m a musician at heart, my instrument being… a brush, so I play…brush and I paint… music.
I love jazz. I call it freedom music. It promotes special values. I love intelligent people and good conversations.

Some people ask me how music relates to art. Personally I find they go hand in hand. Music is what turns me on to painting. It makes me see colours
