CARLO MONOPOLI CONFRONTING REALITY!(2)

By likemindblog

Carlo-Monopoli-artist 1

CARLO MONOPOLI and part two of his most interesting article.  “I paint because I like it, I like it because it makes me feel good, because it calms my tourment and my pain.  I like to cook!  I think painting “feels” better when it is accompanied by a good meal and even better wine!  When I meet people and they ask me wat I do, I see the dismay painted on their faces when I reply:  “I just paint”  In fact, it’s not an easy form of work but it’s mine!”

Carlo, again thank you for participating in this project and answering my questions in this part 2 of your article.  And especially for taking the time to do it both in English and in Italian.

No. 6) Under what Conditions do you work best?

The ideal condition is a state of mind that is familiar in the chemistry of the air or in the immateriality of light.
Basically, my every day is focused on painting or drawing.
Whether it’s for my personal research in my laboratory or sketching ideas in my notebook traveling on the road or even sitting in a cafe, while in a conversation with my students or between the notes of music on the go.
Each sensation makes a living dimension in a labyrinth of images and perceptions that overlap and are processed in my mind .. until spring …. To find forms on a canvas or a sheet of paper.
I do not feel the need to transform all that elaborate in a painting.
Inspiration can find the final form in a simple sketch or a text: it’s okay .. I do not need anything else.CARLO MONOPOLI cuerpo de mujer PICCOLA
Sometimes, however, I find myself to be dominated by the power of painting that insatiable craving and keeps me hunted relentlessly for hours to paint.
But when it is nourished enough, comes the conclusion.
Conversely, I happened to stand there motionless in front of a blank canvas for hours, not because I had the idea in your head or did not know which medium to use: I needed to “see” the finished painting done … in every part, weighed in any balance.
All the processing time was the creative artistic act in itself!
Almost every time the “war” ended with 3, 4 strokes on the canvas and cruel enough .. let rest.
He was out .. .. was born with the confidence needed to take time over world and never goes back on a painting.
It is no longer inside of me .. or better is finally out of me.
He has his own way.

No. 6)  Under what conditions do you do your best work?

Non è più dentro di me..o meglio è finalmente Fuori di me.  Ha un suo cammino.

No. 7) Do you identify with your subject and if so, on what level?
I believe that every artist tells himself .. but not strictly a biographical fact, but personal way of living and transform things in life.
Each has its expressive dimension: in the subject, the colors, the way you use them or not use them.
The art in all its forms, is a channel for passage. A door.  There is no single human being who does not receive the art!   I think that each work with his medium, cause in every person, without exception, a vibration in the floor, layered with different levels of perception is identical with that of the artist himself.
Over time I realized that my best paintings came from my dreams when I was a child and also those that, roughly, I remembered more than once I found myself scribbling in my notebook during the night or what happened, the dream just did.
With best paintings I mean those facts with greater fervor alive with enthusiasm, since the first stroke.
Other paintings have had a growing .. they had a gradual growth.
I’m curious about the relationship I have with my works:CARLO MONOPOLI arco di quiete
I’ll always born with love and with loving care I bring forward.
At one point I feel that I need to detach from him and I was born a kind of unbearable of the painting. .
I realize, I feel, think, I insist too much on the same point! It is there that I understand that the painting must go! Now is his time … a last brush and go! Ready to go and at that precise moment that “is beyond me.”

No. 7)  Do you identify with your subject and if so, on what level?

No. 8) Does painting help you connect with your higher self whatever That is for you?

A reason for what has been said earlier, I’d say the answer is “yes.” Definitely yes.  I believe the dream to which you link turns, at times, my feminine side, the most creative, has strong relationships with a higher consciousness. Also probably due to my beliefs and my spiritual values.

No. 8)  Does painting help you connect with your higher self whatever that is for you?

No. 9) How do you feel about creativity in the public school systems?
I believe in public schools, at least for the Italian school, and without entering into controversy, is given to art, just enough flour to children’s creativity and give them the means to express it.
To be fair, many teachers are given a lot to do to guide children toward a free expression of their creativity and try to do their best for this.
But the problem is, in my view, the structure and constraints that require the same institution.

No. 9) How do you feel about creativity in the public school systems?

No. 10) In your opinion, What Could Be A Simple Solution to Improve creativity in the public school systems?
I have an idea about it: to educate the children to see with their eyes,
but more importantly, give them the opportunity to learn to draw, using different methods (appropriate to the age, of course) and then “educate” to represent their thoughts through a simple method: giving the same importance of writing.
If children were taught to write A, B, C as to draw squares, triangles and circles, we would see that as their language will begin to develop, grows, their ability to simplify complex forms, or a complication of simple shapes, through their drawings.
I started some time painting and drawing classes for children and for adults who want to still grow, just for this intention:   This aims to open a passage into the world of graphic pictorial representation in the most simple and natural.
The passage of this threshold is designed as the gradual rise of a day … how will this day be the ultimate goal.   “… It’s sunshine or storm will be art … its “is the slogan!
Essential elements: enthusiasm, passion, a bit ‘of paper, a pencil and that is enough to begin !!…….
Each of us has the ability to transform into words what can or can not say. Through a drawing, a gesture, a colour, can discover, highlight and talk about emotions, inner thoughts and images that would otherwise remain dormant.   The project has, thus, a cathartic function (disclaimer), sharing, development of creative energy, communication, change.
The fantasy is used as a tool to express and deal with their own experience.
So, you’re ready to begin? J

No. 10)  In your opinion, what could be a simple solution to improve creativity in the public school systems?

About

My name is Michele Andree. I am an artist, I paint musicians in action. I think I’m a musician at heart, my instrument being… a brush, so I play…brush and I paint… music.
I love jazz. I call it freedom music. It promotes special values. I love intelligent people and good conversations.

Some people ask me how music relates to art. Personally I find they go hand in hand. Music is what turns me on to painting. It makes me see colours
